Dec. 7, 2016 WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. ââ'¬" Fifty-seven Boilermakers were honored with Academic All-Big Ten acclaim for the fall season, the conference announced Wednesday.

Football led the way with 19 selections, followed by soccer (14), women's cross country (12), men's cross country (7) and volleyball (5).

Standouts among the honorees include five All-Big Ten honorees, an all-region selection and an Academic All-District recipient.

Middle blocker Faye Adelaja garnered All-Big Ten acclaim on the volleyball court after leading the team with a .367 hitting percentage, ranking 35th nationally, third in the Big Ten and fifth on Purdue's season listing. The redshirt senior also added 2.26 kills per set and 0.85 blocks per set to the team's total en route to AVCA All-Northeast Region accolades.

Sophomore quarterback David Blough was an honorable mention selection after leading the Big Ten in total offense and passing yardage. His 3,365 yards of total offense rank sixth in the Purdue season record books, while his 3,352 passing yards rank seventh.

Redshirt freshman linebacker Markus Bailey, an honorable mention All-Big Ten honoree, is one of just eight players in the program's storied history to lead the Boilermakers in tackles and interceptions in a season, posting 97 tackles and four picks in 2016. He is just the fourth linebacker to accomplish the feat.

Senior tackle Jake Replogle and sophomore Joe Schopper also were honorable mention selections for the football team. Replogle posted 45 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and a safety. He was honored as Purdue's Sportsmanship Award recipient. Schopper had 24 of his kicks downed inside the opponent's 20-yard line and finished the season with a 40.7 yards per punt average.

Senior Kiara McIntosh was an all-region honoree for women's cross country, finishing 18th at the Big Ten Championship and 24th at the Great Lakes Regional meet.

Setter Ashley Evans was an Academic All-District honoree after leading the Boilermaker volleyball team to a 19-14 record and an NCAA Second Round appearance. Evans dished out 10.88 assists per set, ranking 38th nationally and fifth in the Big Ten, while guiding Purdue to a hitting percentage of .250 or better in 19 of its 33 matches. The redshirt junior also added 2.07 digs per set and a team-best 29 aces.

To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners, in at least their second year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0.
