GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Purdue men's golf team recorded the best round of the day and finished seventh in the Bridgestone Golf Collegiate at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The Boilermakers shot a 54-hole total of 15-under par 849 (284-287-278) to finish seventh out of 13 teams. Duke won the team title at 30-under par 834 and was followed by Iowa State (-26), Northwestern (-25), Liberty (-25), North Carolina State (-24) and UNC Greensboro (-17).

Purdue's 10-under par 278 is the 15th-best, 18-hole score in school history while the 15-under par 849 is the seventh-best, 54-hole score in school history.

Through the fall season, Purdue has an 18-hole scoring average of 288.79, which is just off the school-record pace of 288.19 set during the 2001-02 season.

Leading the Boilermakers was sophomore Timmy Hildebrand, who finished with a career-best eighth-place showing after shooting 7-under par 209 (73-68-68). The 209 is the 17th-best, 54-hole score by a Purdue player in school history and it marked his first career top-10 finish. His two rounds of 68 marked his first career rounds in the 60s, and he now has six even or under-par rounds (out of 14) this year.

In his five tournaments this fall, Hildebrand has finished T-18th, T-54th, T-33rd, T-17th and T-8th.

Austin Eoff finished a stroke back at 6-under par 210 (69-72-69) to finish tied for 10th and his 15th career top-10 finish. Eoff was under / even-par in all three rounds for just the third time during his career (43 events). Eight of Eoff's 14 rounds have been even / under-par this year and he has 20 career rounds in the 60s following this showing in Greensboro.

Fernando Barco and Jarle Volden finished tied for 42nd at 1-over par 217. Volden shot a final-round, 2-under par 70 for his total of 1-over par 217 (71-76-70). Barco shot a 1-under par 71 to finish his tournament at 1-over par 217 (74-72-71).

Brian Carlson was tied for 60th at 7-over par 223 (71-75-77), while James Thompson, who was competing as an individual, placed 81st at 20-over par 836 (81-78-77).

The event closed out Purdue's fall season. The Boilermakers' next competition will be at the Big Ten Match Play Championship in Palm Coast, Florida, on Feb. 10 and 11.
