These sets will be on sale to John Purdue Club members and season-ticket holders for $55* through the Purdue Athletics Ticket Office. WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue Pete celebrates his 60th anniversary in 2016-17.
A boilermaker if ever there was one, Purdue Pete has been cheering on the Old Gold and Black from the sidelines at athletics events since 1956.
To celebrate the milestone, Purdue Athletics has produced a Purdue Pete Bobblehead Series. Five bobblehead representations of Purdue Pete from the original one to the current version will be available as part of special ticket packages ranging across football, volleyball, men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball and softball games.
The first Purdue Pete Bobblehead Series ticket package will be available for the Homecoming football game Oct. 15 vs. Iowa and will feature the original Pete from 1956. The football ticket packages will range from $25 in the End Zone sections to $40 in the Touchdown section. This package will be available at PurdueSports.com beginning June 3 when single-game tickets go on sale to John Purdue Club members, starting with Brees Leadership and Champion level donors. The Iowa ticket package will be available to the general public starting June 23 if bobbleheads remain.
The next ticket package will be available for the volleyball match against Indiana on Sept. 24 in Mackey Arena and will feature the 1970s Pete bobblehead. The volleyball ticket package will be $7 to $20, depending on seat location. This package will go on sale at PurdueSports.com along with single-game tickets starting July 26 for all John Purdue Club members and Aug. 1 for the general public if bobbleheads remain.
The Purdue Pete Bobblehead Series also will feature a 1960s Pete at both a baseball and softball game, a 1980s Pete at a women's basketball game, and the current Pete at a men's basketball game. Ticket packages, prices and dates are yet to be determined for these three and will be released once complete home schedules are announced.
Bobbleheads will be distributed at each game included in the ticket package only. No bobbleheads will be mailed. A limited number of ticket packages will be available for each sport, so be sure to get yours early.
