ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 72 Purdue women's tennis team dropped its third consecutive Big Ten Conference dual match in a 5-2 loss to No. 9 Michigan on Sunday at the Varsity Tennis Club. In doubles action, the Boilermakers' No. 2 duo of Krisztina Kapitany and Marta Ruedas-Burgos were the victors in a 6-4 decision over Ronit Yurovsky and Kate Fahey. The senior/freshman duo were down 3-1 at one point and they clawed their way back to tie the match 4-4 before claiming the match.
Purdue clinched the doubles point thanks to a 7-5 victory from Andjela Djokovic and Nicole Robinson over Mira Ruder-Hook and Brienne Minor at the top of the lineup.
Claudia Escribens came out of the dual match as the only Purdue player to post a win in singles play. The senior registered her 10th win of the season while playing at the No. 6 position in a 6-3, 6-2 straight-setter against Kara Hall. With the win, Escribens pushed her spring mark to 10-5.
