WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. ââ'¬" The Purdue men's tennis team registered its fourth shutout of the season by blanking Detroit on the Basham Courts at the Schwartz Tennis Center on Saturday. The win lifted the No. T-46 Boilermakers to 12-3 in their final non-conference dual match of the season.
Purdue captured the doubles point for the eighth time this season thanks to wins at Nos. 1 and 2. Victories of 6-1 were picked up by duos of Dominick Sochurek and Ricky Medinilla at the top of the lineup and Mateus Silva and Renan Hanayama at the No.2 spot.
All six singles matches were clean sweeps for the Boilermakers. No. 69 Gergely Madarasz blanked Nicholas Solarewicz in the No. 2 spot to highlight singles play.
Purdue returns to Big Ten Conference action on Friday, playing host to Northwestern on the Basham Courts at 6 p.m. ET.
