CHICAGO ââ'¬" The Purdue men's tennis team pushed their winning streak to five straight with victories over DePaul and Chicago State in the Windy City on Saturday. The 68th-ranked Boilermakers rallied for a 4-3 win over the Blue Demons, then had a 6-0 showing against Chicago State. With the two wins, they pushed their season record to 7-1.

Playing at the Lakeshore Sport & Fitness Center in the first match of the day, Ricky Medinilla's straight-set performance at No. 3 capped off the comeback victory for the Boilermakers over DePaul. The Purdue junior posted a 6-0, 7-6 (4) match against Paul John for the winning point.

The Blue Demons won at Nos. 1 and 2 to earn the doubles point. Mateus Silva evened the battle by taking No. 6 vs. Ivan Divkovic with ease 6-1, 6-1. Trailing 3-1, Purdue's Gergely Madarasz and Benjamin Ugarte tied the dual match with straight-set wins at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively.

The Boilermakers then traveled to the H-F Racquet and Fitness Club in Homewood, where they made quick work of Chicago State, 6-0, in a condensed dual match. Doubles were not contested and only 4 of 5 singles matches played to completion. Lucas Dages stepped into the lineup at No. 5 and used a 6-3, 7-6 (5) match to defeat Gonzalo Martinez.

Purdue will be back in action with another Saturday doubleheader, taking on Valparaiso at 4 p.m. ET and Indiana Tech at 8 p.m. on Feb. 6. Both matches will be streamed via BTN Plus on BTN2Go.
