FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. ââ'¬" The No. 45 Purdue women's tennis team suffered its second loss in as many days, falling to No. 36 Arkansas 4-3 on Sunday while playing on the Dills Indoor Courts. The loss put the Boilermakers at 5-3 on the season.

The Razorbacks struck first in doubles with a 6-3 win at the No. 3 spot from Ana Oparenovic and Mia Jurasic over Claudia Escribens and Natalia Davila.

Playing together for the first time this spring, Andjela Djokovic and Nicole Robinson evened the doubles battle with a 6-4 showing at No. 2 against Shannon Hudson and Agne Cepelyte.

The point went Arkansas' way as Makenzie Craft and Flavia Araujo topped Deborah Suarez and Krisztina Kapitany at the top of the lineup with a 6-4 decision.

It was the bottom half of the Boilermakers' singles lineup that came through with wins, however two came too late.

Purdue's Davila tied the competition up at 1-1 with a 6-2, 6-0 decision over Sasha Shkorupeieva at the No. 4 position. The Razorbacks then rattled off wins at Nos. 3 and 2 before their No. 1 single's player, Shannon Hudson, defeated Djokovic 6-4, 6-4 to clinch the dual victory.

At No. 5, Marta Ruedas-Burgos came through with a straight set win over Araujo with matching scores of 6-4.

Escribens fell in her first set to Jurasic, only to come back, take the second set 7-5 and force a tiebreaker in lieu of a third set. The breaker went down to the wire before the junior from Calgary, Alberta, defeated the Razorback 12-10 in the last match out.

After a brief return home to West Lafayette, Indiana, Purdue will head back out on the road to face Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi, at 3 p.m. ET Friday. The Boilermakers will then trek to Memphis, Tennessee, to take on the Tigers at 9 a.m. on Feb. 7.
