CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- The Purdue women's tennis team swept Missouri in doubles and Andjela Djokovic prevailed in the third set during the second day of action at the Midwest Blast on Saturday while playing at the Atkins Tennis Center.
The Boilermakers won two of the doubles matches by a score of 8-4. Nicole Robinson paired with Djokovic to defeat Tiger tandem Brianna Lashway and Cassidy Spearman. It was then senior Claudia Escribens and junior Natalia Davila disposing of Brittany Lashway and Clare Raley.
The third win came courtesy of an 8-6 match from Deborah Suarez and Krisztina Kapitany playing against Turner-Yates and Bea Machado Santos.
In singles, Djokovic defeated Notre Dame's Allison Miller in a back-and-forth match that ended with a three-set score of 7-6 (6), 4-6, 6-3.
The tournament comes to close Sunday with Purdue scheduled to take on Big Ten foe Illinois in singles starting at noon ET.
