IOWA CITY, Iowa -- A pair of Purdue doubles teams completed play at the Big Ten Men's Indoor Championships on Friday at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex. Singles will take over Saturday with the round of 64. Renan Hanayama leads the Boilermakers off at 9 a.m. ET, followed by Arthur Dobradin at 10:30 a.m. At noon, both Lucas Dages and Dominik Sochurek will take to the court in their round of 64 matches.
It was the first time both of Purdue's doubles teams had played together. Dobradin and Sochurek suffered a pair of 6-4 losses. In the round of 16 it was to Michael Dube and Billy Shisler of Michigan State. Dropping into consolations, they were bounced by Nebraska's Scott Elsass and Marc Herrmann.
The Boilermakers' other tandem, Dages and Hanayama, also suffered consecutive losses to bow out. Roman Trkulja and Zach Lieb of Penn State handed them a 6-4 setback, followed by a 6-3 loss to Michigan State's Colin Harvey and Ivan Rakic.
