WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. --Matt Bouggy and Arthur Dobradin led the way for the Purdue men's tennis team during the final day of the Old Gold and Black Classic on Sunday. The duo was credited with three of the Boilermakers' five doubles wins while playing on the Basham Courts at the Schwartz Tennis Center.
Bouggy and Dobradin posted 6-4 victories in each of their matches. The junior and senior tandem disposed of Kyle Whittaker and Patrick McAuley of IUPUI; Jose Calero and Mikel Saavedra, also from IUPUI; and Ball State's Tom Carney and Patrick O'Connor.
Purdue's other combo in action, Lucas Dages and Dominik Sochurek, notched a pair of wins while playing side-by-side. They registered a 6-4 decision over IUPUI's Whittaker and McAuley and followed with a strong 6-2 showing over the other IUPUI team, Calero and Saavedra.
The men's tennis team has two fall tournaments remaining on their schedule. The Boilermakers will head to the Bluegrass State for their next tournament, the Louisville Winter Invitational that runs from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1.
