AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Purdue men's golf team maintained its position in Sunday's final round of the 3M Augusta Invitational, finishing in an 11th-place tie in one of the most-competitive fields of the season.
The Boilermakers shot a 2-over par 290 to finish the 54-hole event at 5-over par 869 (290-289-290). New Mexico won the tournament at 26-under par 838 (277-281-280), while Illinois was second and Georgia, Houston and Texas rounded out the top five.
The tournament field included eight of the nation's top 37 ranked teams and 12 teams ranked in the nation's top 100. It was the second-to-last regular-season event for the Boilermakers, as they will host the Boilermaker Invitational in two weeks, before competing in the Big Ten Championship in three weeks in Evansville, Indiana.
