WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Boilermakers were back at it for the second day in a row and have just one more practice before the annual Spring Game. The team continued to work hard, as it has all spring, and head coach Darrell Hazell is excited for the weekend.
One focus for the Boilermakers all spring has been working to develop consistency on the defensive line. The group returns significant experience from last season, but knows it needs to keep getting better to be a force up front. Jake Replogle and Ryan Watson are among the experienced guys that return, and both think the group has what it takes to be a strength of the defense. Interviews with both can be found below.
Defensive line coach Rubin Carter also spoke to the media. He likes what he has seen out of Watson and Replogle, as well as Michael Rouse III and others. Carter thinks that something clicked for his guys during the offseason that has them fully buying in and being committed to working hard.
The Boilermakers have one practice left before the annual Spring Game next Saturday. The team received good news about running back DJ Knox, as he has been cleared to play after sitting out the Jersey Scrimmage last week.
Purdue will have its Spring Game draft on Wednesday afternoon at 4:15 p.m. The draft will be broadcast live on Purdue football's Periscope account, which can be accessed through the official team Twitter @BoilerFootball.
The Boilermakers have two more springs practices, including the Spring Game, both of which are free and open to the public. Friday's practice will be about two hours long and will begin at 3:30. The remaining practice schedule is below.
