- The Boilermakers are searching for their fourth top-five finish of the season, coming in its seventh stroke-play tournament. Purdue's best finish was a second-place finish at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational in late September.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- The Purdue men's golf team improved one spot on its second round and sits in fourth place after 36 holes at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Michigan at the Outlaw Course at the Desert Mountain Golf Club.
The Boilermakers turned in the third-best round of the day on their second 18 holes with a 2-over par 290 and own a total of 300-290=590 (+14) to sit in fourth place just shots behind tournament leader and 12th-ranked Oregon (297-286=583; +7). No. 36-ranked Florida is second at 11-over par (302-285=587) while Michigan is third at 12-over par (297-291=588).

Sophomore Austin Eoff continued his strong start to the spring season, shooting a 1-under par 143 (73-70) to finish the first day in a fourth-place tie, five shots behind Oregon's Aaron Wise (-6). Eoff was second in the field on day one in par-4 scoring (-3) and seventh in birdies (8).
Eoff's score has now been counted in 30 straight rounds, dating to last year's Boilermaker Invitational in mid-April of 2014.

Ben-Marvin Egel recovered from a tough first round to sit in a 15th-place tie after 36 holes at 4-over par 148 (76-72). Egel triple-bogeyed his second hole of the day, but then played the rest of the round in 1-over par, before playing his second round in even par. Egel had four birdies and four bogeys in the second round also ranking seventh in the field in birdies (8).
Stuart Macdonald is tied with Egel in 15th place at 4-over par 148 after rounds of 73 and 75. Macdonald was 3-over par after six holes in his opening round, before recording birdies on four of the next seven holes to get back to even par. He settled for a 1-over par 73, before a 3-over par 75 dropped him to 15th place.
Freshman Brian Carlson also recovered from a tough first round to finish day one in 28th place at 7-over par 151 (78-73). In the opening round, Carlson was 2-under par through seven holes, but played the last 11 holes in 8-over par to fall off the pace. He righted the ship with a 1-over par 73 in the second round.
Enzo Perez is in 52nd place at 15-over par 159 (84-75).
Fernando Barco, who is competing as an individual, is in 58th place at 20-over par 164 (83-81).
The third and final round will conclude tomorrow at the Desert Mountain Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
