LAKE OCONEE, Ga. -- The Purdue men's golf team finished tied for 10th at this weekend's Linger Longer Invitational after shooting a two-over par 290 in the final round and finishing with 6-over par, 54-hole score of 870 (288-292-280). No. 3-ranked Texas won the team title at 24-under par 840, while Georgia, Kennesaw State, North Carolina and Oklahoma rounded out the top five.
The Boilermakers were in 12th place after 36 holes at 4-over par 580, before improving two spots in the final round to 10th. Purdue had finished in the top five in its first two spring tournaments, but among a field that featured 10 of the nation's top 52 teams, the Boilermakers struggled to make a move in any of the three rounds.

Eoff recorded a 1-under par 71 in the third round after starting his round 3-over par through eight holes. He birdied four of the final 10 holes to record his ninth even-par or better score in 23 rounds.

Ben-Marvin Egel was 47th at 3-over par (71-73-75), Stuart Macdonald was 53rd at 4-over par 220 (75-73-72) and freshman Brian Carlson placed 61st at 7-over par 223 (74-73-76).
Purdue will return to action at the Augusta State Invitational in Augusta, Ga., on April 5-6. It will be the second-to-last event of the spring season before the Big Ten Championships.
