COLUMBUS, Ohio -- New program records set by Alex Todd in the 100 butterfly and Nika Karlina Petric in the 400 individual medley continued the record-setting week for No. 21 Purdue swimming and diving Friday at the Big Ten Championships.

Todd eclipsed her own record in the 100 fly that she set at the 2014 Big Ten Championships. Abby Jagdfeld accomplished a similar feat, besting her Purdue freshman record in the 200 freestyle that she established at the Ohio State Invitational in November.

Petric and Todd set the new records in the preliminaries while qualifying for the A finals of their events. Petric's time of 4:13.97 allowed her to eclipse Francesca Marr's benchmark (4:14.35) from the 2012 Big Ten Championships. Todd's career best and program record entering the week was 53.39. The senior lowered it to 53.24 Friday.

Mary Beth Dunnichay's fourth-place finish in the championship final of 3-meter diving was the top showing by a Purdue student-athlete so far this week. She moved up to seventh place in program history with a career-best score of 353.70 in the finals.

Jagdfeld placed sixth in the A final of the 200 free with a time of 1:46.22 to improve on her freshman standard by .22 hundredths of a second. But it was Allie Davis that had the Boilers' top time of the day in the 200 free. The junior won the B final of the event with a career-best time of 1:45.56 that ranks third in program history. She improved on her prelim time by more than a 1 ½ seconds.

The Boilermakers have set eight new program records so far at Big Tens, six overall benchmarks and two freshman standards.

Meanwhile, Purdue moved up to fifth place in the team scoring. The Boilermakers will enter the final day of competition 38 points behind fourth-place Wisconsin and 11 points ahead of sixth-place Ohio State.

Jagdfeld, Rhiannon Sheets and Davis combined for 34 team points in the 200 free after Sheets also qualified for the A final.

Led by Todd, four Purdue student-athletes scored in the 100 fly, accounting for a combined 25 team points. Kylie Vogel and Meagan Lim improved on their second and third-fastest times, respectively, in program history in the prelims while qualifying for the B final. Sheets also scored in the 100 fly.

The divers accounted for a combined 19 points on 3-meter after MacKenzie Tweardy and Samm Reese qualified for the consolation final to go along with Dunnichay's fourth-place overall finish.

Emily Fogle advanced to the A final of the 100 breaststroke in her first individual event at the Big Ten Championships since 2012. Marr took third in the B final of the 100 breast and Caroline Weigand moved up to fifth place in program history in the event while winning the C final with a time of 1:01.34.

Hannah Manger improved on her second-fastest time (53.60) in program history in the prelims of the 100 backstroke and later was the runner-up in the B final of the event. Trish Regan (54.93) and Madison Monteiro (4:18.65) accounted for the fourth-fastest times in program history in the 100 back and 400 IM, respectively.

Saturday's final day of action at the Big Ten Championships features preliminaries at 11 a.m. and finals at 6:30 p.m.
