COLUMBUS, Ohio -- No. 25 Purdue women's swimming and diving has the lead after the opening day of competition at the Ohio State Invitational.

After closing the night with a victory in the 400 medley relay, the Boilermakers hold a 25.5-point lead over second-place Kentucky.

Hannah Manger, Emily Fogle, Alex Todd and Abby Jagdfeld teamed up for the second-fastest time (3:37.67) in program history in the 400 medley relay. Purdue's B relay quartet of Anji Li, Francesca Marr, Meagan Lim and Carly Marshall finished fourth in the event to rack up another 30 team points, compensating somewhat for a false start DQ by the B team in the 200 freestyle relay.

Led by Allie Davis' runner-up finish, all six Boilers competing in the 500 free scored team points by finishing among the top 14. Davis posted the third-fastest time (4:44.05) in program history. Nika Karlina Petric was the top qualifier in prelims and improved her time in finals (4:44.77), but settled for third place as Davis, Petric and Jagdfeld finished 2-3-4 behind Kentucky's Kendal Casey.

Five Boilermakers scored in both the 50 free and 200 IM. Marr (2:01.64), Trish Regan (2:01.75) and Lim (2:01.97) finished 2-3-6 in the A final of the 200 IM and all moved up the Purdue all-time Top 10 list in the event.

Kylie Vogel led the way with a fourth-place finish in the A final of the 50 free. Marshall won the B final. Vogel, Li, Marshall and Rhiannon Sheets teamed up for a runner-up finish in the 200 free relay.

Mary Beth Dunnichay scored in 3-meter diving by qualifying for the eight-diver finals.

Action continues Saturday with prelims at 8:30 a.m. and finals at 6:30 p.m.
