POSTGAME NOTES
- Purdue improved to 13-0 all-time against the Summit League.
- IUPUI went 6-of-8 from long distance in the first half, but went 0-of-8 in the second half.

- Vince Edwards became the first Purdue freshman in almost 34 years to score at least 26 points with eight rebounds in a game. Edwards is the first freshmen to have 26 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks in a game in school history.
- Kendall Stephens' 24 points and six three-pointers were a career-high. He has made at least three, three-pointers in 12 career games.
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Vince Edwards scored 26 points and Kendall Stephens added 24 to lead Purdue to a 77-57 victory over IUPUI on Sunday.
The 6-foot-7 Edwards, who scored 13 in the season-opener against Samford on Friday, had 19 in the first half, making 8 of 10 field goal attempts, including a pair of 3-pointers. He finished 11 of 16 from the floor.
Stephens added 13 in the first half, making 3 of 4 shots from beyond the arc. Edwards and Stephens made 11 of 15 shots during the opening half, when Purdue (2-0) built a 48-38 lead.
IUPUI (0-2) stayed within striking distance. Leo Svete made four 3-pointers and scored all of his 14 points before intermission. IUPUI shot 54.5 during the first 20 minutes but had 11 turnovers, leading to 17 Boilermaker points. D.J. McCall added 14 points for the Jaguars.
The Boilermakers raced to a 15-2 lead during the first 4:08, including eight points from Stephens, and never trailed in the first meeting between the schools.
Stephens hit a 3-pointer with 9:07 remaining in the final half to extend Purdue's lead to 63-49, prompting an IUPUI timeout. At that point, Edwards had 23 points and Stephens 21, including five 3-pointers.
Jon Octeus made a pair of free throws with 6:49 remaining and pushed the Boilermakers to a 65-54 lead.
Stephens sank a clutch 3-pointer from the right corner with 4:14 to play-his sixth trey-giving the Boilermakers a 69-57 lead.
Purdue 7-foot center A.J. Hammons made two free throws and hit a field goal with 2:20 remaining to stretch the lead to 73-57.
