WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Allie Davis and Mary Beth Dunnichay both won a pair of individual events to lead the way as Purdue women's swimming and diving had the top score among a large field of competitors at the Indiana Intercollegiates Saturday afternoon to cap the season-opening weekend at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center.

The Purdue women won seven individual events and both relays, scoring 786.5 points to place first among 10 teams.

Davis won the 200 and 500 freestyle and helped her 200 free relay team win the event. She posted strong early-season times in the 200 (1:49.06) and 500 (4:51.67). The Boilers had the top five finishers in the 200 free.

Dunnichay swept the diving events for the second day in a row to finish the weekend a perfect 4-for-4 on the springboards. MacKenzie Tweardy was the runner-up in both diving events Saturday.

Kylie Vogel demonstrated her versatility by winning the 50 free, finishing as the runner-up in the 100 back and swimming the butterfly leg on the victorious 200 medley relay team. Nika Karlina Petric did likewise by winning the 200 IM, placing third in the final heat of the 500 free and anchoring the 200 free relay to victory.

Trish Regan won the 100 fly to round out the women's winners.

The Purdue women and the men's divers are back in action Friday for a triple dual with Cincinnati and Ohio State in Columbus. It will be the first of many trips to the state capital of Ohio for both groups this year.
