WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Boilermaker Soccer Complex is set to serve as the host site of Tuesday's pro exhibition game featuring the Indy Eleven and the Chicago Fire reserves. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at the home of Purdue women's soccer.
Online tickets are available until 11:59 p.m. Monday and tickets will be available at the gate Tuesday starting at 5 p.m. Tickets are $15 for preferred general admission seating in the grandstands on the west side of the field and $11 for standard general admission seating elsewhere around the field.
Fans opting to sit in the sections reserved for the independent supporters groups of both clubs may also reserve $11 tickets. The Brickyard Battalion backs the Indy Eleven and Section 8 Chicago supports the Fire.
Portions of the proceeds from the exhibition match will be donated to the Indiana Soccer Foundation's Rachael Fiege Memorial Scholarship Fund, which will provide assistance for soccer outreach programs including TOPSocccer benefiting youth throughout Indiana.
Additional bleachers are being brought in to increase the capacity at the Boilermaker Soccer Complex to 2,000 for the special event Tuesday under the lights. Parking is free Tuesday. Overflow parking will be along the Cherry Lane extension west of McCormack Road and in the Alexander Field parking lot west of the baseball field. After those parking options are filled, fans will be directed to the lots north of Ross-Ade Stadium and a shuttle bus will carry fans back and forth to the Soccer Complex.
"A match against the Chicago Fire has been high on Indy Eleven fans' wish list since day one, and we're glad to give them the chance to create what will be an outstanding atmosphere up in West Lafayette," said Indy Eleven President/General Manager Peter Wilt. "Most importantly, this game offers one more chance to take on quality opposition as we get ready for the opening of our season 11 days later."
The matchup against the Fire will mark Indy Eleven's sixth exhibition game against an MLS side this preseason. With its April 12 Inaugural Game against the Carolina RailHawks quickly approaching, the matchup will provide Indy Eleven another tough test in preparation for its first season of play in the North American Soccer League.
Indy Eleven will kick off its inaugural season in the North American Soccer League (NASL) on April 12, 2014, against the Carolina RailHawks and will play its home contests at Michael A. Carroll Stadium on the campus of IUPUI in downtown Indianapolis. Born Indy Pro Soccer after launching as the 11th member of the North American Soccer League on January 16, 2013, Indy Eleven established its identity 99 days later on the 152nd anniversary of the establishment of the 11th Indiana Regiment during the Civil War on April 25, 1861.
The NASL is the officially-sanctioned Second Division of professional soccer in the United States and Canada. In 2014, expansion newcomers Indy Eleven and Ottawa Fury FC will join Atlanta Silverbacks, Carolina RailHawks, FC Edmonton, Fort Lauderdale Strikers, reigning Soccer Bowl champion New York Cosmos, Minnesota United FC, San Antonio Scorpions FC and Tampa Bay Rowdies, while Virginia Cavalry FC, Jacksonville Armada FC and a franchise in Oklahoma City will join in 2015.
