AUSTIN, Texas -- Layne Rogers and Jamie Bissett's All-America honors earned via top 15 overall finishes in 3-meter diving highlighted day two action at the NCAA Championships for Purdue men's swimming and diving.

Rogers took eighth in the championship final to garner full All-America recognition. Bissett was sixth in the consolation final (14th overall) to take home Honorable Mention All-America acclaim.

Together the two divers earned 14 team points for Purdue Friday. The Boilermakers will enter the final day of action in 24th place among the 41 scoring teams at the national championship meet. Indiana was the only other school to have two divers score team points Friday.

Rogers earned his third career All-America honor by finishing sixth among a field of 35 divers from the 3-meter springboard with a list score of 388.40 in the prelims. The sophomore was an Honorable Mention All-American in 1-meter and platform diving last season.

Bissett was 10th in the prelims and posted his best score of the day (386.40) in the finals. He was also an Honorable Mention All-American in platform diving last season.

All four Purdue divers that qualified for the NCAA Championships competed Friday from the 3-meter springboard. Nate Cox (339.95) was 24th and Sean Mokhtari 28th (319.40) in the prelims. They'll both compete Saturday from the platform towers, their top event.

Swimmers Lyam Dias and Guillermo Blanco also competed individually for Purdue Friday. Dias placed 19th in the prelims of the 100 breaststroke, finishing just .09 hundredths of a second shy of the 16th-place finisher, who earned the final spot in the consolation final to garner Honorable Mention All-America acclaim. Blanco took 26th in the prelims of the 400 IM, a strong improvement on his showing in the 200 IM (47th) Thursday.

Head coach Dan Ross opted to scratch the Boilers' 200 medley relay team from the competition so Blanco wouldn't have to swim the medley relay and 400 IM back-to-back.

The 200 free relay team's 22nd-place finish in the prelims accounted for Purdue's top showing Thursday. Austin Flager, Matt Friede, Adam Johnston and Danny Tucker represented the Boilers in the event. Flager and Tucker also teamed with Blanco and Dias for the 400 medley relay team, which placed 25th in the prelims.

Rogers, Bissett and Cox finished 25th, 27th and 34th, respectively, in the prelims of 1-meter diving Thursday. Cox is the only Boiler competing in all four diving events this week.

The NCAA Championships conclude Saturday with prelims at noon ET and finals at 8 p.m. Purdue will be represented in four events. ESPN3 and WatchESPN will have live coverage of the finals session.
