MINNEAPOLIS -- MacKenzie Tweardy's All-America honor earned via an eighth-place finish in the championship final of platform diving highlighted the final day of action at the NCAA Championships for Purdue women's swimming and diving.

Tweardy earned 11 team points for Purdue Saturday, teaming with fellow diver Michelle Cabassol (22 points) to help the Boilers finished 25th of the 53 scoring teams at the national championship meet. Georgia won the national title with 528 points.

Tweardy placed eighth among a field of 26 divers in the preliminaries to advance to the platform championship final in her first year at NCAAs, earning her first All-America honor. She posted her best list score (307.80) of the day in the prelims.

Francesca Marr, Carly Mercer, Rhiannon Sheets and the 400 free relay team represented the Boilers as well at the national championship meet Saturday. Mercer and Sheets finished 31st in the prelims of the 100 free and 200 fly, respectively. Marr placed 37th in the prelims of the 200 breaststroke.

Mercer closed out her career by swimming the leadoff leg on the 400 free relay, teaming with Kylie Vogel, Grace Hernandez and Sheets in the event. Purdue finished 26th in the prelims.

The Boilermakers will be bidding adieu to NCAAs qualifiers Casey Matthews, Cabassol and Mercer but are slated to return seven NCAAs qualifiers for the 2014-15. Campaign.
