WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Joe Barry Carroll will be honored at halftime of the Purdue-Indiana men's basketball game Saturday.

Carroll is the Boilermakers' career leader with 1,148 rebounds (second-most in Big Ten history) and 349 blocked shots (fourth-most in conference annals) and ranks second with 2,175 points and 55 double-doubles. He averaged 22.3 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.8 blocks as a senior en route to being named a consensus first team All-American. Carroll registered the only triple-double in Purdue history with 16 points, 16 rebounds and a school-record 11 blocks at Arizona on Dec. 10, 1977.

The Denver native was selected with the first overall pick in the 1980 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors. He spent eight seasons with the Warriors and subsequently played for the Houston Rockets, New Jersey Nets, Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns, as well as in Italy. Carroll was selected to the 1987 NBA All-Star Game.

Upon retiring from the NBA in 1991, Carroll relocated to Atlanta, where in 1993 he founded The Carroll Group, a wealth advisory company serving high-net-worth families. Recently, he published "Growing Up ... In Words and Images," a memoir featuring his original paintings paired with narratives. All proceeds from the book will be donated to the Georgia Innocence Project, Purdue Black Cultural Center and John Purdue Club.

Tipoff between the Boilermakers (14-10, 4-7 Big Ten) and the Hoosiers (14-10, 4-7) is 4 p.m. The game will be televised by ESPN. A point will be on the line in the Governor's Cup, which Indiana currently leads 6-5.

The first 2,000 fans will receive a Joe Barry Carroll bobblehead. Carroll will conduct a postgame book signing in the Mackey Arena West Club.

It is the program's annual "Pink Zone" game.
