Ross Honored by Indiana PGA

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Dan Ross, PGA Head Professional at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex, has been named recipient of the inaugural PGA Player Development Award by the Indiana PGA.

The award is presented for extraordinary and exemplary contributions and achievements in the area of player development. It considers the PGA Professional's growth of the game leadership commitment at the section and national levels and the impact made at his or her facility.

Ross, who is in his 11th year at Purdue, is being honored for his efforts with Get Golf Ready, the PGA Junior League Golf and teaching classes to Purdue students. He will be recognized Feb. 10 in Carmel, Ind.

Ross began working in the golf business as an assistant professional in 1992 and worked at Harrison Lake Country Club for Master Professional Tony Clecak until 1997. While there, Ross became a member of the PGA in 1995. In 1997, he became the head golf professional at Walnut Creek Golf Course in Upland, Ind., his home golf course in college. After two years at Walnut Creek, Ross was named the head golf professional at Edgewood Country Club in Anderson, Ind., where he worked for five years.

A graduate of Taylor University, Ross was team captain and the No. 1 player on the golf squad both his junior and senior seasons.
