WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Three women and two men each posted multiple individual victories to lead the Purdue swimming and diving teams to a dual meet sweep of Michigan State Saturday afternoon to cap a busy weekend of action at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center.

The No. 20 Purdue women won 14 of the 16 events and took the meet, 167-125, to remain undefeated (7-0) in dual meet action this season. The Purdue men won 13 of the 16 events and the meet, 187.5-112.5, to improve to 6-2 in dual meets in 2013-14.

Jamie Bissett (diving sweep), Michelle Cabassol (diving sweep), Lyam Dias (breaststroke sweep), Meagan Lim (butterfly sweep) and Carly Mercer (50 free and 200 IM) each won two individual events for the Boilermakers. Austin Flager, Danny Tucker and Kylie Vogel each contributed to both of their teams' relays wins.

The Purdue women had least each of the top three finishers in the 1-meter diving, 50 and 200 freestyle, 100 and 200 backstroke, and 200 IM. The Purdue men finished one-two in both diving events as well as the 50, 100, 500 and 1650 free.

Along with Lim's butterfly sweep, fellow freshmen Filip Bujoczek (200 free), Josh Ehrman (200 IM), Grace Hernandez (500 free) and Hannah Manger (200 back) each won an individual event for the Boilermakers Saturday.

Manuel Gutierrez and Jan Petric finished one-two in the men's 500 free and were part of the most exciting finish of the day. Gutierrez rallied to win the event after coming out on top of a tight finish that saw both Boilers and MSU's Jonathon Burke all touch within four tenths of a second of each other.

Luke Trimmer posted a new Purdue season-best time (15:37.71) in the mile while winning the event. Allie Davis came up just shy of finishing the 1000 free in under 10 minutes, but still managed to post a personal season-best time of 10:00.34 while winning the event. Guillermo Blanco (100 fly winner, second in the 100 fly), Francesca Marr (200 breast winner, second in the 200 free), Nika Karlina Petric (200 free winner, second in the 200 back), Davis (second in the 100 free) and Mercer (two wins, second in the 100 back) each had an event victory and a second-place showing.

Led by Bissett and Cabassol, the Boilers dominated the diving events and claimed 11 of the top 12 finishes. Cabassol posted personal season-best scores from both the 1-meter (313.73) and 3-meter (364.14) competitions.

Blanco, Davis, Dias, Friede, Hernandez, Manger, Marr, Mercer, Tucker and Vogel each won at least one individual event and contributed to a relay winner.

Nine members (eight swimmers and one diver) of the Purdue men's team will be back in action next weekend at the six-team Classic @ SMU. The Purdue women are idle next weekend before returning to action Saturday, Jan. 25 for the annual rivalry dual meet at No. 11 Indiana.
