Men's Golf Places Ninth at Augusta State Invitational

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Purdue men's golf team fired its best round of the weekend - a two-over 290 - on Sunday to take ninth place at the Insperity Augusta State Invitational.

The Boilermakers finished the tournament with a total of 883 (+19). Texas claimed the team crown with a total of 863 (-1).

Sophomore Justin Cho, a native of nearby Alpharetta, Ga., finished off the best performance of his Purdue tenure with an even-par 72 on Sunday. He finished the tournament tied for eighth place with a total of 214 (-2).

Fellow sophomore Enzo Perez posted the Boilers' best individual round of the day on Sunday, registering a 71 (-1) to move his total to 221 (+5) and earn a share of 28th place. Junior Adam Schenk tied for 45th with a total of 225 (+9), redshirt freshman David Cooke finished in a tie for 65th with a total of 230 (+14) and freshman Jonathan DiIanni posted a total of 231 (+15) to finish as part of a 68th-place tie.

Purdue will take next weekend off before hosting the Boilermaker Invitational from April 20-21 at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex.
