AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Purdue men's golf team shot a cumulative 593 (+17) on Saturday to finish the opening day of the Insperity Augusta State Invitational in 10th place.
The Boilermakers shot 298 (+10) in the morning before improving by three strokes with a second-round 295 in the afternoon.
Sophomore Justin Cho finished the afternoon in a tie for seventh place with a total of 142 (-2), leaving him just two shots off the pace for the individual crown heading into Sunday's final round.
The native of nearby Alpharetta, Ga., fired a career-best 69 (-3) in the second round after posting a one-over 73 in the morning.
Sophomore Enzo Perez shot 150 (+6) on Saturday to finish the day in a tie for 38th place, while Adam Schenk shot 151 (+7) and redshirt freshman David Cooke posted a 152 (+8) to tie for 45th and 50th, respectively. Freshman Jonathan DiIanni wrapped up the day in a tie for 72nd with a score of 158 (+14).
The final round of the Insperity Augusta State Invitational will start at 8:30 a.m. ET on Sunday with tee times. Live scoring will be available at golfstatresults.com.
