FRENCH LICK, Ind. - The Purdue men's golf team finished the first day of the Big Ten Championships in a tie for fifth place with a total of 598 (+22).
The Boilermakers shot 304 (+16) in the first round before rebounding with a 294 (+6) on their afternoon ride. Purdue's second-round score was tied for the third-best in the field.
Junior Adam Schenk paced the Boilers on Friday with a total of 147 (+3). The Vincennes, Ind., native shot 74 in the first round and 73 in the second on the par-72 Pete Dye Course.
Redshirt freshman David Cooke shot 148 (+4) on the day to wrap up Friday's play in a tie for 12th place, posting a 73 (+1) in the second round. Sophomore Enzo Perez is tied for 23rd at 150 (+6), while classmates Justin Cho and Ben-Marvin Egel are both tied for 42nd at 155 (+11).
