INDIANAPOLIS -- Jamie Bissett and Layne Rogers both qualified for the consolation final of platform diving to earn Honorable Mention All-America distinction and score team points for the Boilermakers, highlighting the third and final day of the NCAA Championships for Purdue men's swimming and diving.

Bissett placed fourth and Rogers took seventh in the consolation final of platform diving. Both divers moved up after placing 14th and 16th among the 27 competitors in the preliminary round. Bissett accounted for five team points with his 13th-place national finish. Rogers chipped in two more points with his 15th-place national finish.

Rogers also earned Honorable Mention All-America recognition Thursday after finishing as the runner up in the consolation final of 1-meter diving. The freshman accounted for nine of the Boilers' 26 team points at the national championship meet this week.

Purdue finished 25th nationally among the 39 scoring teams at the NCAA Championships. Michigan won the national championship for the 12th time.

The Boilermakers were also represented in the preliminaries of 200 breaststroke, 100 freestyle and 400 free relay Saturday. Lyam Dias placed 19th in the 200 breast, posting his best finish among his three individual events at the national championship meet this week.

Tucker also raced individually in the 100 free, placing 32nd in the prelims. He also teamed with Matt Friede, Chuck Destro and Benjamin Ziolkowski in the 400 free relay. Purdue's foursome placed 21st in the prelims. The same quartet earned Honorable Mention All-America distinction Thursday in the 200 free relay, placing fourth in the consolation final.

Eight Boilers competed in 11 events at the NCAA Championships this week. Purdue will have to bid adieu to a number of talented and accomplished seniors, including Destro and Ziolkowski, but is scheduled to return many experienced swimmers and divers for the 2013-14 season. Six of the eight team members that competed at NCAAs will be back, including Bissett, Dias, Rogers and Tucker.
