COLUMBUS, Ohio - The No. 63 men's tennis team suffered a 7-0 defeat at the hands of the No. 5 Ohio State Buckeyes on Friday. Ohio State swept the doubles and singles.

Purdue (13-4, 0-1 B1G) was faced with a tall task as the team competed against three ranked doubles teams and four ranked singles players. Aaron Dujovne and Diego Acosta fell 8-5 to the No. 28 duo of Devin McCarthy and Ille Van Engelen at No. 1. The remaining two doubles teams each fell 8-3.

Ohio State (17-2) was equally as tough in singles. The Buckeyes won four of the six matches in straight sets. Those wins came at Nos. 2, 4, 5, and 6. Mark Kovacs played one of the nation's best as tough as he could, but came up just short. The junior, competing at the top singles spot, fell to the No. 20 player in the nation, Blaz Rola, 5-7, 6-1, 1-0 (10-7). Pawel Poziomski also took the first set in his match. The senior, playing at No. 3, topped Van Engelen, 6-3, in the first set. However, the Buckeye bounced back and won the next two sets to take the match, 6-1, 6-2.
