Purdue (11-3) picked up its 10th win of the season with the win over the Braves. The Boilermakers began the day with a win at No. 2 doubles. Mark Kovacs and Diego Acosta knocked off Juan Diego Cuadrado and Justin Abrams, 8-2. Arthur Dobradin and Mateus Silva clinched the point with a win at No. 3. The freshmen defeated Hamish Weerasinghe and Arthur Romanet, 8-6.
In singles, Silva gave the Boilermakers a 2-0 lead with a dominant win at No. 6. Silva was nearly perfect in a 6-0, 6-1 over Kevin Keiner. Kovacs was next as he won at No. 1. He dominated Weerasinghe, 6-3, 6-1, for his win. Krisztian Krocsko clinched the win for the Boilermakers with a win at No. 5. He neared perfection as well with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Abrams.
Bradley (4-5) tried to get on the scoreboard at No. 2 against Evan Hawkins. Hawkins trailed 5-2 against Cuadrado in the first set. From there, though, the Purdue sophomore turned it on and won the set 7-5. He used the momentum then to cruise through the second set and win, 6-2. Acosta also fought off a tough first set. The fellow sophomore won 7-6 in the first set before controlling the second 6-2 over Ahmed Albitar at No. 3. Aaron Dujovne completed the sweep with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 4 over Ashton Kalhorn.
In the evening match, things were not as easy. Michael Tenzer and Joey Leto began for with a 8-3 for Green Bay at No. 3. The duo defeated Silva and Dobradin. Krocsko and Tatarczyk leveled the doubles score at one with an 8-5 win at No. 2 over Howard Scott and Michael Tebon, 8-5. The match was decided at No. 1. Acosta and Dujovne hung on to win over Erik Finkenbrink and Craig Cox, 9-7, to clinch the point for Purdue.
Krocsko dominated Scott at No. 5 to start singles. The Purdue senior won, 6-4, 6-0. Silva made the score 3-0 with his second singles win of the day. The freshman defeated Leto at No. 6, 6-4, 6-2.
Green Bay (7-3) tried to claw back after a win at No. 3. Cox defeated Hawkins, 6-3, 6-2. Purdue was able to clinch the win with Acosta at No. 3. He knocked off Leopold Gomez Islinger, 6-3, 6-3. Kovacs made the score 5-1 with a three-set win at No. 2. Kovacs knocked off Finkenbrink, 5-7, 6-2, 6-4. Tatarczyk wrapped up the day against Tenzer. He won in three sets, 6-4, 6-7 (1), 1-0 (9).
The Boilermakers have a week off before returning to action for their spring break trip. The team will travel to California to take on Fresno State and UC Santa Barbara on March 13th and 16th, respectively.
