WACO, Texas - The No. 69 Purdue men's tennis team dropped a road match against No. 18 Baylor on Saturday. The Boilermakers lost, 6-1.

Baylor (3-1) started the afternoon by picking up the doubles point in a match that was forced inside due to inclement weather. Roberto Maytin and Marko Krickovic beat Pawel Poziomski and Mark Kovacs at No. 2, 8-3. Julian Lenz and Patrick Pradella clinched the point with a victory at No. 3. The Bear duo defeated Arthur Dobradin and Mateus Silva, 8-4.

Purdue (7-2) had a tough time getting things going in singles as well. The No. 50 singles player in the country, Krickovic, knocked off Krisztian Krocsko, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 4. The No. 60 singles player in the nation, Mate Zsiga, extended the Baylor lead to 3-0 with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 over Szymon Tatarczyk. Diego Galeano clinched the win for the Bears with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Silva at No. 6.

Poziomski forced a three-set match before coming up short at No. 3. Poziomski fell to Pradella, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0. The No. 53 player in the country, Lenz, then picked up a win at No. 1. Lenz defeated Kovacs, 6-3, 7-5. The Boilermakers finally got on the board with a victory at No. 5. Aaron Dujovne knocked off Maytin in three sets, 1-6, 6-4, 1-0.

The Boilermakers fall to 0-3 all-time against Baylor.

The Boilermakers will be back in action next Saturday with a home doubleheader. Purdue will face Wright State and Valparaiso at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET.
