ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Adam Johnston's victory in the 50 freestyle highlighted the opening day of action for the five members of men's swimming competing at this Michigan First Chance meet.
Johnston won the seven-man race with a personal season-best time of 20.56, improving on his fourth-fastest time of the year for the Boilers. Peter Koss took third in the same event.
Among the bevy of personal season-best times was a mark of 58.70 turned in by Collin Baker in the 100 breaststroke. He improved on his personal season-best time that also ranked as the fourth fastest of the year for Purdue.
Action concludes Sunday with races at noon and time trials at 4 p.m.
