HANOVER, N.H. - The Purdue men's tennis team picked up another win Saturday knocking off the No. 49 Dartmouth Big Green 4-3.
Purdue (6-0) started strong against the No. 49 ranked team by winning the doubles point. Dartmouth started off by winning the No. 3 match 8-3 over Pawel Poziomski and Mark Kovacs. Diego Acosta and Aaron Dujovne brought Purdue back by winning a tight No. 1 match 8-6. The Boilermakers won the doubles point when Szymon Tatarczyk and Krisztian Krocsko took the No. 2 in another close match 8-6.
In singles play, Tatarczyk made quick work at the No. 1 match winning 6-2, 6-4. Kovacs fell in the No.2 match 6-2, 6-3. Freshman, Mateus Silva, lost his No. 6 match 6-0, 7-5. Dujovne added to his early season success by winning at No. 4 in a tough three set match 7-6, 5-7,6-4. Acosta, the No. 118 player in the country, lost his match at No. 3 6-3, 7-5. Krocsko clinched the match for Purdue in the No. 5 spot when he won his match 6-4, 6-4.
Purdue will play No. 51 Brown in its second matchup of the Dartmouth Classic at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
