ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Purdue men's swimming and diving received individual victories from Danny Tucker and Layne Rogers and finished the day with a win in the 200 freestyle relay, but it was not enough to keep pace with No. 1-ranked Michigan, losing the dual meet 153-90 Saturday afternoon.

The Boilermakers dropped to 4-2 in dual meet action this season, splitting their weekend road trip to the Great Lakes State that featured dual meets at Michigan State and Michigan in less than 24 hours.

Tucker followed up his sweep of the 50 and 100 freestyle sprints and a pool-record time at Michigan State Friday with a victory in the 100 free Saturday. He also anchored Purdue's victorious 200 free relay foursome, teaming up with Benjamin Ziolkowski, Chuck Destro and Matt Friede.

Layne Rogers won the 3-meter diving competition, an event in which Purdue had the top three finishers. Nate Cox capped a strong weekend showing with a runner-up finish, improving on his NCAA Zone-qualifying score from Friday. Jamie Bissett was third and also finished as the runner-up on the 1-meter board.

Manuel Gutierrez and Tucker were the Boilermakers' top performers in a pair of events. Gutierrez was the runner-up in the 500 free and placed third in the 200 free. Tucker took third in the 50 free to go along with his 100 freestyle win.

Brian Kiel also posted a runner-up finish for Purdue, touching second in the 200 backstroke.

Eight swimmers and one diver for Purdue will be in action next weekend at the six-team Classic @ SMU in Dallas. The Boilermakers will travel to Madison the weekend of Feb. 1-2 for the Big Ten Triple Duals versus Minnesota and Wisconsin.
