GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Purdue men's golf team shot 592 (+16) on Saturday to finish the first day of the Bridgestone Golf Collegiate in a tie for eighth place.
The Boilermakers are tied with Maryland, 21 strokes off the pace set by Chattanooga, heading into Sunday's final round.
Sophomore Enzo Perez shot 146 (+2) on Saturday to claim a share of 18th place heading into play on Sunday. The Biarritz, France, native played Grandover Resort at even par in Saturday's second round.
Sophomore Justin Cho finished the day in a tie for 27th after shooting a four-over 148, while senior Jakob Ziegler wrapped up day-one play in a tie for 35th with a five-over 149. Junior Adam Schenk and freshman Jonathan DiIanni shot 150 (+6) and 155 (+11), respectively, to enter into ties for 41st and 57th after Saturday.
