WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women's tennis team wrapped up its action at the USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional on Sunday. Lynda Xepoleas and Daniela Vidal won the consolation doubles championship while Vidal qualified for the consolation singles finals.

Xepoleas and Vidal started Sunday morning with a semifinal match against Kelly Gray and Stefanie Mikesz of Memphis. The Boilermaker pair held on to win, 8-6, to advance to the finals. In the finals, the Purdue pair of sophomores played Christine Guerrazzi and Christiana Raymond of Miami. The Purdue sophomores picked up the consolation championship with an 8-5 win.

Vidal also had a nice day on the singles courts. She knocked off Miami's Raymond in three sets, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1. The sophomore was scheduled to face Liza Tymechenko of Memphis, but the consolation singles championship will not be played.

Monday, the singles and doubles main draw championships will be played starting at 8:30 a.m. Tennessee has a pair of individuals in the singles championship. That same duo teams together to make one of the teams in the doubles championship. The other team is from Vanderbilt. Monday's doubles match is first and singles will follow. All action will be on the Basham Courts at the Schwartz Tennis Center.
