Men's Golf Takes Sixth At Boilermaker Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men's golf team used its best round of the weekend to move three spots up the leader board and finish ninth at the Boilermaker Invitational.

The Boilermakers posted a one-over 289 on Sunday at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex, claiming sixth place in the 18-team tournament with a total of 893 (+29).

Senior Tyler Duncan closed the tournament on a strong note, shooting an even-par 72 in the final round to tie for 15th place with a total of 222 (+6). Sunday's performance was Duncan's second-straight round at par or better, as he shot 71 (-1) in Saturday's afternoon session.

Freshman Justin Cho contributed his second-straight level round on Sunday with a 72 to move his total to 227 (+11) and take a piece of 29th place. Senior William Sjaichudin tied for 33rd with a score of 228 (+12).

Freshman Ben-Marvin Egel added an even-par 72 on Sunday and finished along with teammate Sam Fu in a tie for 37th with a total of 229 (+13).

The Boilermakers will have a quick turnaround before heading to the Big Ten Championships this weekend in French Lick, Ind. For more information, visit bigten.org.
