Boilermakers Shut Out Dartmouth

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The No. 38 Purdue women's tennis team finished off the California weekend on a perfect note as the Boilermakers shut out Dartmouth on Friday, 7-0. Purdue did not drop a set on the day.

Purdue (9-1) picked up where it left off yesterday. The Boilermakers swept the doubles point with Jennifer Rabot and Mara Schmidt winning at No. 1, 8-3. Freshmen Lynda Xepoleas and Daniela Vidal won at No. 3, 8-3, while Gisella Pere and Imogen Golder won at No. 2.

The Boilermakers continued to roll in singles. Rabot picked up a dominant win at No. 1, 6-0, 6-2. Xepoleas finished her homecoming trip with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2. Schmidt continued her undefeated season with a 6-1, 6-2 route at No. 3 and Vidal won 7-6 (1), 6-0 at No. 4. Pere was solid at No. 5 and won 6-4, 6-2, while Anna Dushkina stepped in at No. 6 and did a nice job with a 6-2, 6-1 win.

The Boilermakers finished their spring break California trip 2-0. The team will return to Big Ten Conference action next week. Purdue will play road matches at Ohio State next Friday and at Penn State a week from Sunday.
