Men's Golf Takes Third At Puerto Rico Classic

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico - The Purdue men's golf team put together an even-par 288 on Tuesday to finish third at the Puerto Rico Classic.

The Boilermakers wrapped up the three-day event with a total of 856 (-8), finishing four strokes behind second-place Clemson. Alabama ran away with the event with a team score of 834 (-30).

Seniors Tyler Duncan and William Sjaichudin led the way for Purdue, both finishing in a group of five players tied for seventh place with a total of 213 (-3). The effort was Duncan's fifth top-10 finish of the season, and the first of the year for Sjaichudin.

Duncan shot 74 (+2) on Tuesday, while Sjaichudin carded an even-par 72.

Freshman Justin Cho shot 71 (-1) in the final round to move into a tie for 29th place with a total of 218 (+2). Sophomore Adam Schenk finished the tournament in a tie for 39th with a score of 222 (+6), while redshirt freshman Enzo Perez matched Cho with a one-under 71 on Tuesday and finished in a 46th-place tie with mark of 225 (+9).

The Boilermakers are idle until mid-March, when they venture to Greenville, S.C., for the Furman Intercollegiate.
