Miller's Victory in 100 Breaststroke Highlights Opening Night of Classic @ SMU

DALLAS - Albert Miller's individual victory in the championship final of the 100 breaststroke highlighted the opening night of competition for Purdue men's swimming and diving Friday evening at the Classic @ SMU.

Eight Purdue swimmers and diver Alec Back are competing in Dallas this weekend at the prestigious six-team Classic @ SMU. The Boilermakers will also host Michigan State Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. for the final double dual meet of the season.

Miller won the A Final of the 100 breaststroke with a time of 54.69. He bested USC's Vladimir Morozov by 15 tenths of a second. His time was 12 tenths of a second shy of his season-best time.

Back's third-place finish in the 1-meter dive with a score of 314.10 was also among the Boilers' top finishes of the night.

Purdue was in sixth place with a team score of 113 points after the opening night of competition. The Classic @ SMU concludes Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
