WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Anthony Johnson and D.J. Byrd each scored 11 points to help Purdue defeat IPFW 81-56 on Tuesday night.
Robbie Hummel added 10 points and a season-high 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the year. Kelsey Barlow, Lewis Jackson and Ryne Smith also had 10 points apiece for the Boilermakers (10-3).
Purdue bounced back from a last-second loss to Butler on Saturday and increased its home winning streak to 25 games. The Boilermakers made 9 of 12 free throws, an improvement over their previous 63 percent shooting.
Joe Edwards scored 12 points and Trey McCorkle added 10 for IPFW (7-4), which had won five straight. Frank Gaines, who entered the game averaging 21.4 points, finished with nine on 2 for 11 shooting.
Purdue shot 53 percent from the field and held the Mastodons to 34 percent shooting. The Boilermakers never trailed, and their largest lead was 34 points.
