CANCUN, Mexico (AP) - Brittany Rayburn scored 16 points and No. 15 Purdue outlasted Kansas State 46-42 in overtime on Friday night in the Cancun Challenge.
KK Houser added 11 while Sam Ostarello had seven points and 11 rebounds for the Boilermakers (6-0), who are off to their best start since 2006-07.
Ostarello hit the only basket for Purdue in overtime to break a 40-40 tie. Rayburn made two free throws with 1:03 left and Houser added two more with 48.4 seconds to play to seal the victory.
Jalana Childs scored 23 points to lead Kansas State (3-2), which lost both of its games in Mexico.
Neither team shot well from the field with Purdue making just 30 percent while Kansas State was at 29 percent.
