KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Purdue men's tennis team wrapped up the first day at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional and five singles players and two doubles teams advanced to the second round.

Mark Kovacs started the day of for Purdue with a nice 7-6, 6-4 win over Brandon Fickey of Tennessee. Moments later, Aaron Dujovne clinched his win over another Volunteer with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 triumph. Pawel Poziomski and Krisztian Krocsko finished at nearly the same time, both with straight set wins. Poziomski advanced with a 6-0, 6-4 victory and Krocsko a 6-3, 6-3 edge. The last singles victory of the day for the Boilermakers came when Szymon Tatarczyk topped Rogerio Ribeiro 6-4, 7-5.

In doubles Dujovne and Tatarczyk advanced to the second round by knocking off Akser and Riberio of ETSU, 8-5. Also, Krocsko and Evan Hawkins won their first round match, 9-7. Krocsko and the freshman also won their second round doubles match, 8-4, to move on to the quarterfinals.
