SKOKIE, Ill. - The Purdue men's golf team shot the second-best round in the field on Monday to move two spots up the leader board and finish fourth at the Windon Memorial Classic.
The Boilermakers carded a seven-over 287 as a unit in the final round, surging ahead of Charlotte and host Northwestern to take fourth place. The Boilers finished the 54-hole tournament with a total of 856 (+16), just nine strokes behind first-place Arkansas.
Sophomore Adam Schenk fired a final-round 71 (+1) on Monday, moving from a tie for 26th into a share of 16th place with a total of 214 (+4). Redshirt freshman Enzo Perez also finished in the six-player group tied for 16th after carding a 72 (+2) in the final round.
Senior Tyler Duncan and freshman Ben-Marvin Egel both earned a share of 24th place after final round efforts of 71 (+1) and 73 (+3), respectively, brought them to a total of 216 (+6). Freshman Justin Cho wrapped up the tournament in a 42nd-place tie with a total of 219 (+9).
Junior Jakob Ziegler, playing as an individual, also grabbed a share of 24th place with a total of 216 (+6).
Purdue will resume its fall schedule on Oct. 29 when it opens up the Bridgestone Golf Collegiate in Greensboro, N.C.
