Doubles Dooms Boilers At Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. - Doubles was the deciding factor for the No. 64 Purdue men's tennis team as it fell to conference foe Wisconsin, 4-3, on Friday.

Purdue (10-10, 1-5 Big Ten) split singles play against the Badgers at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium. Mark Kovacs was first to score for the Boilermakers as he dominated at No. 3, blanking his opponent, 6-0, 6-0. Aaron Dujovne was next to pick up a tally for the Old Gold and Black as he won at No. 5, 6-4, 6-2. Pawel Poziomski was the last Boilermaker to come out on top as he won in an exciting third set, 7-5.

Wisconsin improved to 9-9 on the season including 3-2 in the Big Ten Conference. The Badgers also improved their record against the Boilermakers to 56-18.

Purdue continues its road trip on Sunday when it travels to Minneapolis to face the No. 20 Minnesota Golden Gophers. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m. CT from the Baseline Tennis Center.
