WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men's golf team shot 312 (+24) on Saturday in a windy third round to finish the second day of the Big Ten Championships in sixth place.
The Boilermakers own a total of 906 (+42) after 54 holes of play, and will enter final-round play four strokes behind fifth-place Ohio State and eight shots behind rival Indiana.
Freshman Adam Schenk and junior William Sjaichudin each shot 76 (+4) on Saturday to pace the Boilermakers. Purdue's two leaders in season stroke average, Schenk and Sjaichudin sit in a tie for 13th place with total of 223 (+7) with 18 holes left in the championship.
Sophomore Henry Plager shot 79 (+7) on Saturday to move his total to 232 (+16) for the tournament, good for a share of 35th place. Senior Erich Johnston and freshman Sam Fu are tied for 42nd after three rounds with totals of 235 (+19).
The final 18 holes of the Big Ten Championships will begin at 8 a.m. ET on Sunday with tee times off holes No. 1 and 10. For further information on the Big Ten Championships, please click here.
