GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Purdue men's golf team shot 289 (+1) on Saturday to wrap up the second day of the Furman Intercollegiate in fifth place.
The Boilermakers own a team total of 583 (+7) after 36 holes of play, and will head into the final day of competition four strokes behind fourth-place East Carolina.
Junior William Sjaichudin followed up his career-best effort on Friday with a second-straight red number on Saturday, firing a three-under 69. He maintains a three-stroke lead heading into the final day of play with a total of 134 (-10).
Freshman Adam Schenk shot an even-par 72 on Saturday to move his total to 148 (+4) and finish the day in a tie for 41st place. Senior Erich Johnston is tied for 78th with a total of 153 (+9), freshman Edward Peters has a share of 87th with a score of 154 (+10) and sophomore Henry Plager is deadlocked at 106th with a tally of 157 (+13).
The Boilermakers will conclude the Furman Intercollegiate with 18 holes of play on Sunday.
