ATLANTA, Ga. - For the first time in two years, the Boilermakers suffered a shutout in a tough loss to 24th-ranked Yale Bulldogs at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Ga.
This was the Boilermakers' first outdoor match of the season. Purdue only played a handful of matches outdoors last season and none at the Schwartz Tennis Center due to inclement weather.
Purdue had not played Yale since 1989 before this matchup; an 2-0 Yale all-time series record now stands.
Yale played two matches in Atlanta before facing the Old Gold and Black; a 5-2 defeat of Georgia State and a 6-1 loss to No. 7 Georgia.
During their spring break trip to Atlanta, the Boilermakers began their outdoor transition and appeared in this match.
Purdue continues its Big Ten Conference slate next weekend with a Michigan road trip, taking on the Spartans on Saturday at 11 a.m. ET and the Wolverines on Sunday at 11 a.m. ET.
