RIO GRANDE, P.R. - The No. 30 Purdue men's golf team shot 290 (+2) on Tuesday to finish the Puerto Rico Classic in 11th place.
The Boilermakers moved one spot up the leader board in the final round, and finished the three-day event with a team total of 880 (+16). Alabama took the team title with a score of 836 (-28).
Senior Erich Johnston fired an even-par 72 on Tuesday - his second round at par or better in the tournament - and finished in a tie for 23rd place with a score of 217 (+1). Johnston was one of three Purdue players to shoot level par on Tuesday, as junior Tyler Duncan and freshman Adam Schenk were also even for the day.
Schenk finished in a tie for 40th place with a tally of 220 (+4), while Duncan shared 49th place with a mark of 223 (+7). Junior William Sjaichudin also tied for 40th after shooting 74 (+2) in the final round.
Senior Nakarintra Ratanakul rounded out Purdue's lineup in 74th place with a total of 237 (+21).
The Boilermakers will be idle until March 18, when they are slated to compete in the Furman Intercollegiate in Greenville, S.C.
