RIO GRANDE, P.R. - The No. 30 Purdue men's golf team shot 301 (+13) on Monday in the second round of the Puerto Rico Classic and will head into Tuesday's final round in 12th place.
Through 36 holes of play, the Boilermakers have compiled a team score of 590 (+14).Georgia Tech and Alabama currently share the lead at 562 (-14).
Senior Erich Johnston, junior William Sjaichudin and freshman Adam Schenk all shot 74 (+2) to lead the Boilers on Tuesday. Johnston is currently tied for 22nd place with a total of 145 (+1), while Sjaichudin is tied for 30th (146, +2) and Schenk owns a share of 46th (148, +4).
Junior Tyler Duncan and senior Nakarintra Ratanakul both shot 79 (+7) in the second round. Duncan is tied for 60th place with a total of 151 (+7), and Ratanakul is tied for 73rd with a score of 156 (+12).
The final 18 holes of the Puerto Rico Classic will be contested on Tuesday. Live scoring will be available at golfstat.com.
